Sultana Begum is the 60-year-old great-granddaughter-in-law of last Mughal emperor in India, Bahadur Shah Zafar II, who lives in extreme poverty in a slum in Howrah near Kolkata. Begum had demanded possession of Red Fort on grounds she is a direct descendant of the original owners of the historical monument – the Mughal emperors. She filed a plea in Supreme Court.
