Surendra Koli, arrested in 2006 for the Nithari serial killings in Noida, was accused of murdering and cannibalising several children and women between 2005 and 2006. He was convicted and sentenced to death in multiple cases. After nearly two decades in jail, the Supreme Court in 2025 acquitted him, citing lack of credible evidence and procedural lapses.
