Tata Sons, the owner of the Tata name, is the principal investment holding company and promoter of Tata companies. 66% of the Tata Sons is owned by charitable trusts, 18% is held by the Mistry family, 13% by Tata Companies and 3% by individuals. The board of directors include Ratan Tata, and ousted Chairman Cyrus Mistry, among others.
