Who is most at risk for cavities?
short by / on Wednesday, 16 July, 2025
Cavities happen when the loss of minerals from teeth (demineralisation) is more than the minerals being added back (remineralisation). This balance is affected by what we eat, our genes, and health conditions. Kids, older adults, and people with dry mouth are more at risk, according to Dr Saumya Saluja. Eating less sugar and using fluoride helps prevent tooth decay.
