Who was Gulzar Singh, Dalit man who raised Punjab drug crisis?

Gulzar Singh, 46, was a Toor Banjara resident and father of three sons whose eldest son was reportedly addicted to 'chitta'. Distressed over the village's drug problem, he questioned Punjab minister Harpal Singh Cheema during a public meeting. His family later alleged he was pressured to apologise before he died by suicide.
