Vijay Varma announced his new project titled 'Matka King', a web series about Matka gambling, that originated in Mumbai in 1962. Ratan Khatri was known as Matka King for transforming Matka into a huge racket. He was rumoured to have celebrities and dignitaries worldwide as his clientele. He retired from the gambling business in the 1990s and died in 2020.
