Captain Maria Zuberi, the 47-year-old pilot who died on Thursday while trying to save others in the chartered aircraft crash in Mumbai's Ghatkopar, was a native of Allahabad. She had 1,000 flying hours on the record in her 17-year flying experience. The first pilot in her family, she had previously worked for Jet Airways and an aviation engineering company.
