Sarabjit Singh, a farmer from Punjab's Tarn Taran district, mistakenly crossed the Pakistan border while he was drunk in 1990. He was convicted by Pakistan Supreme Court in 1991 for bomb blasts across Lahore and Faisalabad in 1990 and sentenced to death. In April 2013, Singh was attacked by other prisoners in Lahore jail and he died days later.
