The US was the world's largest military spender in 2024 at $997 billion, as per think tank Stockholm International Peace Research Institute. It was followed by China at $314 billion, Russia at $149 billion, Germany at $88.5 billion and India at $86.1 billion. The other top military spenders were the UK, Saudi Arabia, Ukraine, France and Japan.
