S Jaishankar was the Foreign Secretary from 2015 to 2018 and upon retirement, he joined Tata Sons as President (Global Corporate Affairs). A 1977 batch IFS officer, the 64-year-old previously served as Indian ambassador to US and China, and is known as the architect of the India-US nuclear deal. Jaishankar holds an M.Phil and PhD in International Relations from JNU.
