Employees fired by Google are calling themselves the 'Golden 12K', coined by a Google employee who was impacted by the layoffs. Stating his reasons for the term, the former employee said, "Although we didn't make it through this round of macroeconomics + restructuring; we've gained tremendous experience." Earlier this month, Google announced plans to lay off about 12,000 employees worldwide.
