Startups Pixxel and Sarvam AI are planning to host data-centre-grade GPUs to run Indian-governed LLMs in Low Earth Orbit. They aim to bypass terrestrial limits like land scarcity, heavy power consumption, and massive water cooling needs of AI data centres. Orbiting servers can tap into uninterrupted solar energy and use the vacuum of space for natural cooling.
