Why are pandas black and white?

A recent study by US-based scientists has revealed that pandas have black and white features to hide and communicate. While white markings help pandas hide in the snow, black limbs provide camouflage in shady forests. The bamboo-eating animals have dark patches around the eyes and ears to scare away their predators and help them recognise each other, said the biologists.
