Why are plane cabins always white?

Airplanes' interiors are typically white as they make the cabin look brighter and more spacious. They also reflect light better, hide scratches and give a clean, fresh appearance, which enhances passenger comfort. It also makes spotting damage easier. As white colour paints fade less, it makes maintenance easier for the airlines.
