Why balloons filled with hydrogen gas explode?

Hydrogen and helium gases can make a balloon float, but hydrogen is highly combustible while helium is non-flammable. Hydrogen is often used because it is cheaper but it can ignite with minimal provocation. Even friction from balloons rubbing against plastic or clothes may trigger it. When hydrogen balloon bursts, hydrogen escapes, mixes rapidly with air and forms an explosive environment.
