Why Bengaluru's KBS is popularly called Majestic?

Bengaluru's Kempegowda Bus Station is officially known as KBS, but generations of residents continue to call it Majestic. The name reportedly comes from Majestic Theatre, a cinema that once stood nearby. Conductors used the theatre as a landmark while calling out "Majestic", eventually making the name synonymous with the neighbourhood and one of Bengaluru's most recognisable transport hubs.
