Why can the same cancer stage have different outcomes?

Dr Surekha Talasila explains that women with the same stage of ovarian, cervical or endometrial cancer can have very different outcomes because tumour biology, grade, molecular profile, surgical results, overall health and treatment response also matter. Cancer stage remains important, but it does not alone determine prognosis or treatment success.
