Delhi witnessed a drop in temperature after heavy rainfall despite the emergence of El Niño, a climate phenomenon linked to weaker monsoons and hotter conditions. Weather officials said the cooler weather was caused by a fast-moving squall line, a chain of intense thunderstorms, that formed over Punjab and moved east across Haryana into Delhi-NCR, bringing light to moderate rainfall.
