Why did India’s only active volcano erupt twice in a week?

India's only active volcano on Barren Island erupted twice, on September 13 and 20. Officials said eruptions were caused by "shaking intensity" in its magma chamber. Located on the West Andaman Fault, where the Indian plate moves beneath the Sunda plate, causing regular earthquakes which disturb magma chamber 18-20 km below, forcing molten lava to surface through cracks and openings.
