India targeted nine terrorist sites in Pakistan and PoK under Operation Sindoor. Each of the sites had history of association with major terror plots and infiltration attempts directed at India. India identified these sites based on cumulative assessments of their significance to terrorist ecosystem. Bahawalpur, one of the primary targets, is widely known to be headquarters of Jaish-e-Mohammed.
