The skies in Venezuela's Caracas turned fiery red days after deadly earthquakes hit the country. Locally referred to as 'candilazo', the optical phenomenon's timing has been linked to the disaster's aftermath. The dense layer of fine dust, concrete and suspended particulate matter acted as a massive filter, intensifying the scattering process and shifting the dusk horizon into a deep red.
