Why did the US add India to currency manipulator watchlist?

The US labels a country as a currency manipulator if it meets three criteria - a $20-billion bilateral trade surplus, current account surplus exceeding 2% of GDP and net foreign-exchange purchases exceeding 2% of GDP. A country is included in the monitoring list if it fulfils two benchmarks. India was added after it breached the first and third criteria.
