Why do we sometimes see the Moon during the day?
short by Dharini Mudgal / on Wednesday, 5 November, 2025
Moon spends nearly as much time in the daytime sky as at night. It doesn’t create its own light, and it can only be seen because sunlight reflects off its surface. This reflection is bright enough that Moon can often be visible during daytime, whenever it’s above the horizon and sky isn’t too bright. Visibility also depends on its phases.
