Why does fog appear more in winter season?
short by Aradhana / on Wednesday, 7 January, 2026
Fog is essentially a cloud at ground level, formed when air is saturated with water vapour, a Moneycontrol report said. Winter fog occurs because cold air cannot hold much moisture, causing water vapour to condense into tiny droplets near the ground. Meanwhile, in summers the air can hold more moisture, which is why fog does not form as easily.
