Human hair becomes frizzy in humid weather as a reaction to high levels of hydrogen. When hydrogen bonds form between proteins and water molecules in the hair, it becomes curly and frizzy. As hair absorbs moisture from humidity in the air, the outer cellular layer of hair is disrupted and the shape of the hair is temporarily changed.
