Why fuel prices may not be slashed despite crude prices dipping to 4-year low?

Crude prices hit four-year low of $60/barrel in April but petrol and diesel prices, which have remained unchanged since March 2024, are unlikely to be slashed. This is because oil marketing companies might have their hands tied by LPG under-recovery, inventory losses and weak gross refining margins. Experts believe crude price cuts' benefits may take two quarters to reach consumers.
