Why has Israel escalated attacks in southern Lebanon despite ceasefire?

Lebanon's Ministry of Public Health said at least 11 people, including children, were killed in Israeli strikes in southern Lebanon's Nabatieh district on Saturday. Israel said the attacks were in response to Hezbollah's actions against Israeli soldiers at Ali al-Taher Ridge. The strikes came despite two US-mediated truce agreements in June aimed at reducing hostilities between Israel and Lebanon.
