Google's Debug Project, under which it's planning to release 3.2 crore bacteria-infected mosquitoes in US, is aimed at developing technologies to reduce populations of disease-carrying mosquitoes. The project uses the idea of Sterile Insect Technique, where the concept is to raise sterile males and release them into wild insect populations. Its motto is "Let's stop bad bugs with good bugs".
