Why is hydrogen the most abundant element in the universe?

The periodic table elements, which are the building blocks of the universe, were created after the Big Bang. Hydrogen has one proton, one electron and is the only element with no neutrons, making it the simplest element in the universe. Because of this, Hydrogen is believed to be the most abundant element, accounting for about 90% of the visible universe.
