India is concerned about China's involvement in Teesta river project in Bangladesh as large parts of the Teesta basin in Bangladesh lie relatively close to India's Siliguri Corridor, commonly known as "Chicken's Neck". All road, rail and pipeline links to the Northeast pass through this stretch, and it is regarded as one of India's most strategically sensitive regions.
