United Nations General Assembly declared March 20 as International Day of Happiness in 2012 to recognise the relevance of happiness and well-being as universal goals and aspirations in lives of human beings around the world. Resolution was initiated by Bhutan, who recognised national happiness' value over national income in 1970s. This year's theme is "caring and sharing".
