Why is Namma Metro Phase 3 double-decker project delayed?
Bengaluru's Namma Metro Phase 3 has been delayed amid changes to the proposed double-decker design. BMRCL is considering reducing the planned 37-km double-decker stretch to around 11 km at key traffic bottlenecks. The 44.65-km Phase 3 project was approved by the Union government in August 2024, but civil construction work has yet to begin on the two corridors.
