National Green Tribunal issued notices to CPCB and DPCC over a petition alleging Plastic Waste Management Rules violations by manufacturers of gutkha, pan masala and other tobacco products. The plea claims that the firms continue to use sachets and prohibited polymers for packaging, breaching environmental regulations. It also claimed that action against 25 manufacturers remains unimplemented.
