An intense cold wave has gripped north India, keeping daytime temperatures unusually low. IMD scientist Narendra Kumar said a "clear cloud dense fog layer" has formed over northern states, blocking sunlight and preventing ground from warming up. "As a result, daytime temperatures are lower than normal," he added. Warnings are in effect for Punjab, UP, Haryana, Bihar, and nearby regions.
