Income Tax Department has mandated online verification of income tax returns within 30 days of filing as it ensures faster ITR processing time and elimination of delays associated with mailing documents. Taxpayers can verify their ITR using Aadhaar OTP method. They can also use electronic verification code method, which uses a code sent to taxpayers' registered mobile numbers and email-ids.
