Rajasthan has received above-normal rainfall in many areas this June while Maharashtra is facing an unusually significant rain deficit. Meteorologists blamed combination of western disturbances, weak Arabian Sea monsoon branch and repeated intrusions of dry air into central India. While normally Arabian Sea's moisture-laden winds sweeps across west coast, this year that flow remained fragmented.
