September 15 is celebrated as National Engineers' Day to commemorate the birth anniversary of Sir Mokshagundam Visvesvaraya. He was a civil engineer and former Dewan of Mysore, considered as the 'creator of Modern Mysore'. PM Narendra Modi extended his greetings on National Engineers' Day and said, "Their innovative minds and tireless dedication have been the backbone of our nation's progress."
