North India is witnessing sudden rain and snow, leading to drop in temperatures. Citing an unusual western disturbance, a climate scientist said, "A trough is situated in a straight line spanning thousands of kilometres, which is generally very rare. It has the capacity to create very strong thunderstorms." The line reportedly starts in Afghanistan, passes through Pakistan and reaches India.
