Why is the 42nd Amendment called the 'Mini Constitution'?

Passed during the Emergency in 1976, the 42nd Amendment made major changes to the Constitution. It added the words socialist and secular to the Preamble, curbed judicial powers, and gave more authority to the central government. Due to its wide impact on fundamental rights and governance, its often called the Mini Constitution of India.
