Delhi HC has upheld NDMC's decision to cancel licence of Bharat Hotels Limited, parent company of The Lalit, and backed its demand for over ₹1,063 crore. The controversy is over 6.0485-acre land parcel, allotted to NDMC by government in 1973, and later licensed to Bharat Hotels in 1982. The agreement included clause for revision of licence fees after 33 years.
