Why is UAE's Fujairah port critical to global oil supplies?

UAE's Port of Fujairah exported over 1.7 million barrels/day of crude and refined fuels on average last year, about 1.7% of daily world demand, according to Kpler. The port is a major oil storage hub and has become even more critical for global oil flows amid Strait of Hormuz tensions. Fujairah has reportedly suspended oil loadings after a drone attack.
