Situated in the city of Leh, the Hemis Gompa (monastery) hosts the Hemis Tsechu Festival this year on June 28 and 29. This grand two-day cultural festival commemorates the birthday of Guru Padmasambhava, also known as Guru Rinpoche. Held on the 10th day of the Lunar Tibetan calendar, this annual event honours the revered spiritual saviour.
