Why should a person avoid eating fruits on an empty stomach or at night?

Dietician Fiona Sampat said that consuming fruits on an empty stomach should be avoided as fruits contain natural sugars, which can give a quick rise to the blood sugar levels. She said some individuals may also face gastric discomfort. Experts also advise against eating fruits late at night, as it can disturb sleep quality and cause indigestion or bloating.
