Efforts to control the deadly fire at Rituraj Hotel in Burrabazar faced major setbacks due to congested layout of the area. Firefighters struggled to maneuver their vehicles & equipment through narrow, overcrowded lanes of Falpatti Machhua, one of Kolkata’s oldest and busiest commercial zones. Despite deploying ten fire engines, emergency response teams were delayed in reaching the upper floors.
