The Allahabad High Court said a wife's maintenance amount can be up to 25% of husband's income. The court said this while dismissing the husband's petition challenging a family court's order increasing maintenance amount from ₹500 to ₹3,000 per month. It added petitioner husband has sacred and legal duty to provide for his wife, who is unable to support herself.
