Mrs Gauri Mahadik's life changed on December 30th, 2017 when her husband, Major Prasad Mahadik laid down his life for the country in Tawang. She didn't give up and carried forward his legacy by joining the Indian Army in her second attempt. She joined the Officers Training Academy, Chennai in April 2019 and became a commissioned officer in March 2020.
