A wildfire in Canada's British Columbia produced a brief "thunder cloud" on Wednesday. Satellite footage released by the Cooperative Institute for Research in the Atmosphere showed a smoke plume from a pyrocumulonimbus cloud, which is reportedly created by intense heat from the Earth’s surface. Pyrocumulonimbus clouds were also observed during the devastating Australian bushfires in 2019 and 2020.
