BJP MP from MP's Rewa, Janardan Mishra, defended the Centre's ethanol blending policy, saying "there's no pure petrol in the country" due to the war in the Middle East. "After Modiji said 20% ethanol will be blended, protests are taking place....Will pure petrol come from your father's house?" he said to critics. Mishra is known for his controversial remarks.
