President Vladimir Putin said Russia would use weapons of depleted uranium, if needed, in reaction to reports of the US providing such weaponry to Ukraine. Reports stated that the US was poised to authorise depleted uranium tank rounds for Ukraine. Depleted uranium, a dense residual substance, possesses residual radioactivity but cannot initiate a nuclear reaction like a nuclear weapon would.
