William English, who helped build the computer mouse, dies at 91

American computer engineer William 'Bill' English, who helped develop the first computer mouse, passed away on July 26 aged 91 in California after respiratory failure, The New York Times reported. After leaving a career in the Navy, English joined the SRI International research institute. At the institute, he worked to turn engineer Douglas Engelbart's idea of a mouse into hardware.
